Fort Atkinson Mercury Thermometer Collections
The city of Fort Atkinson Wastewater Utility along with Fort HealthCare will be holding a mercury thermometer exchange at the Fort Atkinson Farmer’s Market.
Saturdays, September 11th & 25th
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The market is located in the Milwaukee Street municipal parking lot across from the post office in downtown Fort Atkinson.
Fort HealthCare is underwriting the cost of this initiative through the purchase of 100 digital thermometers, which will be given to anyone who brings in their old mercury thermometer.

Rock County Habitat for Humanity Family Days Workshop
Offering its final "Family Days" Workshop this September.
The workshops are for elementary through high school age children and their parents who are interested in learning about construction and community service. Young adults trained by Habitat's construction staff will learn how to build a wooden chair and will donate theirs to the Prayer House, Habitats current home under construction.

Ride the Rock Biking for Literacy
Get some exercise while supporting a great cause!
Ride in the 2010 Ride the Rock, Biking for Literacy fundraiser coming up on Saturday, September 11
You can choose from an 11-mile Family ride or 20, 40 or 60 mile rides or participate in the 54-mile race. All proceeds will go toward the Jefferson County Literacy Council.
It all starts and finishes at Fort's Jones Park
Registration starts at 7 a.m. and events begin at 8, 8:30 and 9 a.m.

Habitat for Humanity of Rock County Workshop
Rock County Habitat for Humanity will be offering its final “Family Days” workshop in Janesville this September.

Sustain Jefferson 2010 Bi-Monthly Movie Series Continues
See Chris Taylor's documentary "Food Fight", scheduled to be shown in Watertown, Lake Mills, Fort Atkinson and Juneau.
"Food Fight" is a fascinating look at how agricultural policy and food culture have developed in 20th Century America.
